The do’s and don’ts when managing your diaper bag

Now that you have your diaper bag, the next step is to take care of it! A well-stocked and prepared diaper bag can help you to be ready for any situation, from diaper changes to feeding times. However, there are some dos and don'ts when it comes to using a diaper bag. In this blog post, we'll cover some of the most important ones.

Do: Keep it organized

A well-organized diaper bag can save you a lot of time and stress. Use compartments to keep everything separated and easy to find. Make sure to pack diapers, wipes, and diaper cream in an easily accessible spot, so you can quickly grab what you need.

Don’t: Neglect cleaning

Your diaper bag can quickly become a breeding ground for germs and bacteria. Make sure to clean it regularly, especially after spills or accidents. Use a damp cloth and mild detergent to wipe down the inside and outside of the bag. For more tips and tricks on keeping your bag clean check out our Product Care page.

Do: Pack extra

Always pack more than you think is necessary. You never know when your baby might need an extra diaper or outfit change. It's better to be over-prepared than caught off guard.

Don’t: Forget to restock

Always check your diaper bag before leaving the house to make sure you have everything you need. If you've used something, like diapers or wipes, make sure to restock before your next outing.

Do: Be prepared for emergencies

Accidents happen, and it's important to be prepared for them. Pack a small first aid kit, hand sanitizer, and extra clothes in case of spills or other mishaps.

Don’t: Overflow or overwork the bag

There is a big difference between packing extra and carrying too much. It is always important to justify what you will be packing so that your page is not breaking at the seams and overflowing with things you don’t need! Regularly check if the things inside the bag are still relevant to the season or the age as they grow quickly.

Do: Utilize all components

When using a diaper bag, it is in your best interest to utilize all of its components! For instance, the Black Diaper Cruz Bag has 2 insulated bottle compartments and a wet storage compartment to keep your bag clean and fresh. Why would you not use all its features?

Don’t: Forget a little something for yourself!

Just because you’re packing the diaper bag for your little one, doesn’t mean there shouldn’t be something in it for you! Always remember to pack yourself some drinks or snacks so you can keep up with your busy day.
